Description of Lecture:
Describe the current state of dying in America and provide insight into the physician's role in the end-of-life-care.

Learning objectives:
At the conclusion of this lecture, learners should be better able to:
  • Differentiate between what is and is not a barrier to good end of life care
  • Identify the different contributors and their effect on end of life care in the 20th century.

Target Audience:
This lecture is designed to provide physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, residents, as well as any medical or allied health professional with advanced information to improve their care of older adults.

Description of Media:
Media consist of approximately 45 - 50 minutes of audio and PowerPoint presentation taped from the live event and streamed. A post-test of 2 questions and an evaluation questionnaire are included.

Evaluation Method:
An evaluation questionnaire consisting of 2 topic related questions and 3 evaluation questions are required for CME credit.

Up to 60 minutes should be allowed for completion of this lecture and evaluation.
